About Digital Safety Quest
Digital Safety Quest is an interactive serious-game platform that transforms essential online safety and emerging technology topics into engaging scenarios, challenges and real-world decisions. Across 12 major Quests, young people explore social media, AI and deepfakes, misinformation, privacy, relationships, consent, online harm, gaming, identity, wellbeing and positive digital citizenship.

How the quests work
Each Quest contains four to seven missions, each with a distinct purpose and mechanic. Every mission follows the same learning loop: discover the situation, investigate the information, make a meaningful decision, see the consequences, learn why the outcome matters, try again where useful, and apply the skill somewhere new. Quests use a mix of branching scenarios, simulated feeds and chats, evidence boards, sorting activities, fact-checking, case studies and reflection — never the same mechanic twice.
There is no requirement to complete all 12 quests. Each quest is standalone and awards its own badge and certificate.

Developed by Dr Zamzami Zainuddin to support young people easily learn and understand e-safety and digital safety for young people.
Content attribution
Online safety content is informed by resources from the Australian eSafety Commissioner. Digital Safety Quest is an independent educational project supported by the Flinders University Institute for Mental Health and Wellbeing. It is not an official eSafety Commissioner product, and the source material has been transformed into original interactive activities that preserve the educational meaning.
